PC WORX is a Windows-based engineering environment for configuring, programming, and commissioning industrial automation systems. It provides an IEC 61131-3–compliant toolset for PLC development, supporting Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and Instruction List (IL). The software combines hardware and fieldbus configuration with code development, online diagnostics, and monitoring, enabling teams to set up controllers, I/O modules, and networks, then test and maintain applications in one place.
Commonly used with Phoenix Contact controllers and I/O families, PC WORX offers features such as variable tracing, forcing, reusable function block libraries, and integrated configuration for industrial networks (for example, PROFINET and INTERBUS). It suits machine builders and system integrators who need a stable, standards-based PLC IDE. Note: In many new projects, PC WORX has been superseded by PLCnext Engineer, but it remains relevant for maintaining existing installations.
PC WORX is developed by Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.2. The names of program executable files are Mwt.exe, pcworx.exe. Works with bg4 file type.
